Geauga County NAMI
Geauga County National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will hold a peer support group meeting at 7 p.m. June 6 at the Geauga Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services, 13244 Ravenna Road in Munson.
Geauga County NAMI provides education, support and advocacy to those affected by mental illness and their families. NAMI meetings are free and open to the public; registration is not required.

WomenSafe Resale Shoppe
The WomenSafe Resale Shoppe, located in the Drug Mart Plaza at 12061 Chillicothe Road in Chesterland, is always in need of donations of quality used clothing and household goods. The store is operated by volunteers, with proceeds benefiting the accommodations and services provided to victims of family violence at WomenSafe’s Green House on Ravenna Road in Munson.

Host Families Needed
Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin High School is seeking homes for four sophomore girls from Germany and a junior girl from South Korea for the 2013-14 school year.
All foreign students come prepared to be family members, not guests. They are fluent in the English language and provide their own spending money and insurance.

Free Wood Chips
Munson residents are welcome to free wood chips at the township’s recycling area. If anyone needs help, call the Munson Road Department in advance at 440-287-4766, weekdays only from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Register for GPD’s Day Camps
Registration is now open for the Geauga Park District’s weeklong Adventure Day Camp at Walter C. Best Wildlife Preserve, 11620 Ravenna Road in Munson. The camp will run from mid-June through early August, excluding the week of July 4. Age groups are 10-12 years and 13-15 years. Naturalist Dottie Matthiot planned the variety of day-to-day activities.

Fairmount Center Art Exhibition
Area artists are invited to submit entries on May 28, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., to the 37th annual Fairmount Center Art Exhibition to be held June 2-13 at 8400 Fairmount Road in Novelty. Entry fee is $15 per piece, with a three-piece maximum.
The public opening is June 2, from 1-6 p.m., and a judges’ gallery talk is June 7, from 7-9 p.m.

Volunteers Needed
A Caring HeARTS Camp will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 15 at the Holden Arboretum, 9500 Sperry Road in Kirtland. It will be a day of healing for those experiencing grief related to death or loss. There will be guest speakers, a creative arts and music therapy workshop and much more.
The free event is co-hosted by the Heartland Hospice and the Geauga Lyric Theatre Guild. Volunteers are needed to help throughout the day.

At the Senior Center
The senior center bell choir will present its spring concert at 10:30 a.m. May 21 at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive in Munson. Following the concert, attendees will have the opportunity to learn to play the chimes. New members are always welcome to the group. Registration is not necessary.
The Department on Aging will install green reflective address markers for senior citizens in Geauga County that have hard to read address numbers in front of their homes. Cost, including installation, is $12 per marker. Call Bob or Sherri at 440-279-2130.
Armed Forces Day
We honor and salute all past and present members of the United States Armed Forces on May 18, which has been declared Armed Forces Day. Fly the beautiful flag of the United States of America on Saturday in tribute to those who have given so much and continue to give to allow Americans the privilege of living in a great country.
