Historic Tidbit
May 8, 1945, has been declared Victory in Europe Day. From Dec. 7, 1941, to May 7, 1945, the U.S. Armed Forces fought to help the Europeans defend themselves from the Germans and Italians. The war between the United States and Japan raged from Dec. 7, 1941, to Aug. 14, 1945.
The United States casualties alone in both theatres of war numbered 1,125,369, which included 320,000 dead.
Fly the beautiful United States flag on May 8 in honor and tribute to those men and women who gave so much and continue to give.
