Congratulations
Munsonite Megan E. Liggett graduated summa cum laude with Gamma Alpha Kappa honors and received a bachelor of science in bio-chemistry and was named to the dean’s list for spring semester at Ashland University. Megan is the daughter of James and Mary Liggett and is a 2009 graduate of Chardon High School.

School Tours at NDCL
Notre Dame Elementary School holds school tours the first Tuesday of every month at 9:30 a.m. or by calling Josephine Ambrose at 440-279-1129 to schedule an appointment. The school offers all day kindergarten with an extended program of a variety of subjects and languages through grade 8.

At the Senior Center
The Geauga SweetStrings, will present a program of dulcimer music Aug. 20 at 12:45 p.m. at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive in Munson.
The Polish Group will meet at the Chardon Senior Center at 1 p.m. Aug. 21. The club is open to all of Polish heritage and to those who are interested in learning to speak the language.

At The Rookery
E-Z-Go Cart Tours for those with limited mobility are scheduled for Aug. 22, at the Geauga Park District’s Rookery on Cedar and Rockhaven roads in Munson. Tour times are 9:30,10:15, 11, and 11:45 a.m., with each interpretive tour lasting 30 minutes. Reservations are necessary by calling 440-279-0880.
Save the Date
Peace Lutheran Church, 12686 Bass Lake Road, Munson, will hold a day of fun and activities on Aug. 24, rain or shine, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be food concessions, a variety of vendors, clog dancers, polka music and a big Chinese auction. Additional parking is available at Munson Elementary School and Munson Park across from the church.
Donations remain in Geauga County for county residents and will benefit the Geauga County Habitat for Humanity. For more information, call 440-286-3310.
Geauga Walkers
The Geauga Walkers will meet at 1 p.m. Aug. 27 for a guided walk by a naturalist through the beautiful campus of Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, 13000 Auburn Road in Munson. The walk will be canceled if inclement weather. For more information, call Jay Saleck at 440-286-2072.
Fun at the Geauga County Fair
The Mapletown Squares will dance on Aug. 29, from 7-9 p.m., and Sept. 1, from 4-5 p.m., at the Bill Plants pavilion next to the small grandstand. “Wannabe” square dancers are invited to join in the fun.
The Geauga County Fair Band will present concerts Aug. 29 at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., Aug. 30 and 31 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sept. 2 at noon.
Aug. 30 is Senior Hospitality Day. Seniors 65-plus are admitted free. The senior booth will be located outside Merchants Hall 2, Midway 1, with entertainment by the Geauga County Fair Board. Cookies and coffee will be served.
NAMI Geauga County
The National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI) Geauga County will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Geauga Board of Mental Health, 13244 Ravenwood Drive in Munson.
