Congratulations
Munsonite Andrew Leahy is one of six Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin’s Senior Standouts recognized for excellence in the summer edition of Seasons, a publication for alumni, parents and friends of NDCL. Andrew is recognized for his four years of outstanding leadership and dedication in numerous activities, including captain of the swim team, flutist in the marching band and tutoring. Andrew was one of the recipients of a $500 Munson scholarship and will attend Purdue University, where he will major in engineering.
Best wishes to Andrew for continued success.
With the Arts
Area artists are invited to submit a maximum of three entries on Aug. 5, from noon to 4 p.m., at Geauga West Library for the Geauga Council Arts & Culture annual art show to be held at the library Aug. 7-16. Awards will be presented at a reception for all accepted artists and families on Aug. 7, from 5-7 p.m.

Tri-County Coin Club
The Tri-County Coin Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 8 at St. Luke Episcopal Church, 11519 Wilson Mills Road in Munson. Following a short business meeting, there is a 50-plus-lot coin auction, coin displays and more.

At Walter C. Best Preserve
The Geauga Park District will have a “Summer Geocache Day” Aug. 10, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with locations and instructions posted Aug. 3 on the GPD’s website. All geocaching must end at Best’s Preserve Sunset Shelter, Aug. 10 from 1-4 p.m.

Senior Golf Outing
The next senior golf outing, sponsored by the Geauga Senior Board of Trustees, will be Aug. 14 at the Rolling Green Golf Club. Registration is at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
Cost is $23 per golfer for nine holes, golf cart and lunch. Registrations, with check payable to the senior center, are due no later than Aug. 9 at the Geauga Department on Aging, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson.

Concert in the Park
The next Concert in the Park hosted by the Munson Park & Recreation Board will be held at the Scenic River Retreat on Aug. 17, rain or shine, from 6-8 p.m., featuring the Dan Zola Orchestra. The event is free. Refreshments will be sold. Bring lawn chairs and dress for the weather.
Geauga Family First Council
The Geauga Family First Council will meet at 2 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Geauga County Board of Mental Health & Recovery, 13244 Ravenna Road, Munson. The purpose of the monthly meetings is to offer support, understanding and help with family problems as offered by various Geauga County agencies.

Munson Twp. Flea Market
The Munson Township Park & Recreation Board will hold its next outdoor flea market Sept. 14, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Munson Park on Bass Lake Road. Setup time is from 7:30-9 a.m.; no pack up before 2 p.m.
Registrations and booth fees are $15 each and are due no later than Sept. 6 with no refunds after payment. Antiques, garage sale items and crafts are welcome.
Proceeds benefit the events coordinated by the Park & Recreation Board throughout the year. Applications are available at Munson Township Hall, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call the office at 440-286-9255.
Reminder
Munson’s annual Community Picnic takes place Aug. 3, rain or shine, from 3-8 p.m., at Munson Park on Bass Lake Road. There will be fun for everyone with a free picnic lunch, ice cream, Euclid Beach Rocket Car rides and much more.
