It’s chilly…A little fire in the kitchen stove feels good. Signs are for an early fall. It’s hard to belive schools have started already. And “farmer” Joe has started filling silo, another sign of fall.
On Sept. 15, our children and grandchildren came to help us haul our winter’s supply of wood into our wood-shed. It’s all cut and split, thanks to the grands.
We are sorry to hear of Allen Miller Jrs. daughter Kari Elizabeth being diagnosed with leukemia. She is getting treatments at University Hospital’s Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.
Our family reunion in Mio, Mich. at brother John and Esther Millers was greatly enjoyed. Going up were Crist and Ciara Hershberger, Dorothy Kuhns and Joe and I. We left on Thursday morning, Aug. 28 and returned Saturday. We spent the two nights with daughter Betty and family. Brother Perry and Lydia also came from Pulaski, Tn. Brother Albert and wife weren’t able to come as he has back problems.
The blood-drive on Sept. 13 brought in 84 donors. Thank-you to all who came. The next drive here is on Nov. 15.
There will be a school auction at Joes Window Shop this Friday (Sept. 19) evening for Amato Creek School. They will have Haystack dinners to go and dine in, plus a live and silent auction. All are welcome!
Toby Stoltzfus of Shedd Road is at home recuperating from having major foot surgery. Maybe soon he can help his wife wipe dishes, etc.
Our Sunday evening visitors last night were son Perry, Katie Ann and three sons. Later on, we joined daughter Sylvia and family, sitting around the campfire. Those campfire nights will be getting less as colder weather comes along. So, we’ll enjoy them while we can…
Moving in where Mose Bylers used to live were their grand-daughter Susan and Andrew W. Miller. This is on Shedd Road. Also, this week, Joe and Sara Bricker plan to move in with Roman and Ada Schlabach. This is also on Shedd Road. Andrews have two scholars.
