Munson Twp. Scholarships
Munson Township is offering a minimum of two scholarships to high school seniors graduating June 2015. The student must be a Munson resident, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0, a 22 ACT or 1000 SAT score and plan to attend an accredited two or four-year college, university, career or technical education institution in the fall of 2015.
Applications are available at all area high schools, online at www.munsontwp.com or at the township office. Completed applications must be received at the township office no later than Jan. 9. Funds for the scholarships are derived from proceeds from Munson Township’s annual Community Day and private donations. For more information, call 440-286-9255.
Geauga Amateur Radio Assoc.
The Geauga Amateur Radio Association (GARA) will meet at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Geauga County Emergency Operations Center, 12518 Merritt Road, Munson. Meetings are open to all who are interested in this form of international “talk radio.”

Celebrate Recovery
The next meeting of Celebrate Recovery will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 29 at Morning Star Friends Church, 12550 Ravenna Road, Munson. It is a Christian 12-step addiction recovery program offered weekly to all who are seeking to overcome any form of addiction.

Halloween Party
Munson Township’s Fire Department will hold its annual Halloween party on Oct. 31, from 6-8:30 p.m., with entertainment and treats. The party is free and open to all. Monetary donations only are accepted prior to the event for the purchase of treats for the kiddies. Donations can be brought or mailed to Munson Fire Department, 12200 Auburn Road, 44024.
At the Rookery
A Backcountry Heron Hike will be held Nov. 2, from 3:30-5:30 p.m., at the Geauga Park District’s Rookery in Munson. A park ranger will lead the hike off trail to a nesting colony while the herons winter down south. Dress for the weather. For more information and requested reservations, call 440-286-9516.
NAMI Peer Support Group
The Geauga County National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Geauga Board of Mental Health, 13244 Ravenna Road, Munson. The monthly meetings offer education, support and advocacy to those affected by mental illness and their families.
NAMI meetings are free and open to the public. Registration is not necessary.

GSWCD Annual Meeting
The Geauga Soil & Water Conservation District (GSWCD) will hold its annual fund-raising dinner and Rain Barrel Art Campaign auction, starting with the election of one board member at 6 p.m. Nov. 6, at the Geauga County Fairgrounds.
Four rain barrels, painted by local artists, will be open for bids. Dinner, at $10 per person, will be served at 7 p.m.
Proceeds benefit the GSWCD’s environmental education program.

“Curious Savage” at NDCL
The Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Arts Department presents “The Curious Savage” by John Patrick at 7 p.m. Nov. 6-8 at the Pat and Janet O’Brien Center for the Performing Arts at Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, 13000 Auburn Road, Munson.
Tickets, at $8 each, are now on sale and must be reserved and purchased through NDCL’s online system, which features a seating diagram. Tickets can be picked up at the box office the evening of performance. For more information, call 440-286-6226.
