Medicare 101

June 15, 1:30-2:30 p.m.

The Geauga County Department on Aging and representatives from OSHIIP (Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program) will provide an easy‑to‑understand overview of Medicare, including the different coverage options, how they compare and what to consider when choosing a plan. The free program will be held at Geauga County Office Building, 12611 Ravenwood Drive, room A333 in Chardon.

Attendees will also learn about free, unbiased resources available through OSHIIP to help with Medicare questions, enrollment and plan comparisons. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.

Volunteers Needed to Deliver Meals

The Geauga County Department on Aging is seeking volunteers to deliver meals to seniors in Chardon, Munson, Huntsburg and Montville. The meal routes start at the Chardon Senior Center, 470 Center St., Bldg. 8.

The Home Delivered Meal program delivers warm, nutritious lunches from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, to homebound senior citizens in the community.

The department on aging is looking for area agencies, organizations, church groups and individuals 18 years old or older, with a valid driver’s license, who are interested in volunteering. A brief orientation and paperwork are required. Flexible scheduling is available, with options for daily, weekly or substitute shifts.
