Thanksgiving Weekend Fun
Sign up for a strenuous calorie-burning hike or a family scavenger hunt.
Hike Your Turkey Off on Nov. 26 from 9 a.m. to noon at Big Creek Park. Registration is required for the eight-mile, calorie-burning trail hike.
Then, on Nov. 27, explore The West Woods, indoors and out, during the Forest Friends Scavenger Hunt from 1-3 p.m. Rhyming clues will lead participants to animal shapes of all sizes – find them all to win prizes. Register for the program, and then drop in any time during program hours to pick up a scavenger hunt card. Two skills levels will be available and staff will be available to assist.
Odds & Ends Baskets
Dec. 10 or 11, 12:30-5:30 p.m.
Registration is limited for a round bottom basket workshop under the instruction of naturalist Renell Roebuck at Big Creek Park’s Meyer Center. Some weaving experience is recommended. A basic pattern will be provided; participants will then design and weave their own creations. Fee is $20 for Geauga County residents to cover materials and instruction; non-residents pay $24.
