Nature-Inspired Summer Workshops
Register to create a simple wooden chair or a rattan reed basket that sits on a stair.
Naturalist Trevor Wearstler will host his Stargazing Chair Workshop on June 17 from 6-8 p.m. at Observatory Park. The simple wooden chair that you craft will be ideal for stargazing or sitting around a campfire. Wood, tools and instruction will be covered by a modest fee of $15 for Geauga residents and $30 for out-of-county residents.
Then, naturalist Renell Roebuck will teach the basic art of basket weaving during her Stair Basket Workshop on June 24 or June 25 at The West Woods Nature Center. Both sessions will begin at noon and last until 6:30 p.m. for those who take longer to finish. Visit the park district’s Facebook page for a photo of the finished project. A fee of $40 for Geauga residents and $45 for out-of-county residents will cover all materials and instructions.
