Al-Anon Meetings

The next Al-Anon meeting will be held Sept. 5 from 8-9 p.m. St. Luke Episcopal Church, 11519 Wilson Mills Road. The weekly meetings are free and open to all who are working to overcome an alcohol addiction.

At the Senior Center

A beneficial and fun exercise, Chair Zumba, is offered Sept. 4 and 18, from 10:30-11:15 a.m. by Vaia Gilchrist, of Lake Health, at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson, Pre-registration is not required.

On Sept. 10 at 10:30 a.m., there will be a hole-in-one contest on the putting green along with other outdoor games at the Chardon Senior Center. A boxed lunch will be served on the pavilion. Call 440-279-2130 for information and reservations.

The Geauga Department on Aging offers programs to assist seniors with home maintenance, including the adaption for disabilities. Also offered is routine home maintenance. Call 440-279-2130 for more information.

GPD Board Meeting

The next meeting of the Geauga Park District Board of Commissioners is scheduled for Sept. 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the GPD’s Big Creek Park, 9160 Robinson Road in Chardon Township. Geauga Park District owns and maintains Bass Lake Preserve and The Rookery in Munson Township. A number of Munson Township residents have expressed concerns over possible changes proposed at the various parks.

Tri-County Coin Club

The Tri-County Coin Club will meet at 6:45 p.m. Sept. 11 at St. Luke Episcopal Church, 11519 Wilson Mills Road. Following a short business meeting, there will be a 50-plus-lot coin auction, door prizes, coin displays and more.

Join the GANG

The Geauga Arts Network Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at Arts For the Fun Of It at Denis Killeen’s Studio, 119 Main St. in Chardon. This is a change of location for GANG meetings.

Guest artist will be Deb Steytler, illustrator and art instructor. It will also be the GANG’s planning meeting for 2015. Host for the evening will be Joanne Durante.

Save the Dates

The Sisters of Notre Dame will hold their 52nd annual Barbecue & Boutique Sept. 21 and 28, rain or shine, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin campus, 13000 Auburn Road in Munson.

There will be barbecue chicken dinners for $10 and rib dinners for $13. Take-outs available. In addition to good food, there will be a country store, raffles, ice cream and balloons.

Reminder

Munson Township’s outdoor flea market takes place Sept. 6, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Munson Park on Bass Lake Road. An event suitable for all ages, there is something for everyone at a bargain price.
