Gospel According to Scrooge

Chester Christian Center A/G church will present “The Gospel According to Scrooge,” a musical adaptation of a Christmas classic, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Performed by a cast and crew of adults and children with full period costumes, the church has been presenting this beloved classic for 19 years.

Admission is free to this event, but donations of nonperishable food items for the CCC Food Pantry are requested.

Chardon UMC Advent Season

On Dec. 7 at Chardon United Methodist Church, Pastor Dan Drew will bring the second message of the Advent season, which follows the church-wide Advent study, “God is Jealous.”

The church begins the month of December with the celebration of Holy Communion. All are welcome to attend either the 8:45 a.m. foundation service or the 10 a.m. STRUCK contemporary service.

Upcoming Events at Chester Christian Center

On Dec. 7 at 10:30 a.m., Chester Christian Center A/G church will be hosting Karen Jackson in concert. Karen and her husband Dave share inspirational music and artwork.

The ministry of encouragement that Karen shares ranges in style from the timeless traditional hymns to adult contemporary, with a tasteful touch of jazz. She also shares her uplifting artwork with Scripture, which has been purchased and treasured by people throughout the country. The concert is free and open to the public.

Also on Dec. 7, the church will host the Geauga County Right to Life annual Christmas concert at 7 p.m. The concert will feature Celtic group Breacan, father/daughter duet Jeff and Rachel Hise and will conclude with the Christmas House Band leading a sing-a-long of favorite Christmas carols.

The concert is free, but a free will offering will be taken with all proceeds benefiting the Geauga County Right to Life. For more information, call Bruce Pfeifer at 216-299-6909.

Santa Meets Jesus

On Dec. 7 from 4-7 p.m., New Promise Church in Kirtland will host Santa Meets Jesus, a special evening of fun that includes Santa’s House, Elf Workshop, Reindeer Hideout, North Pole Express, Play Land, Santa’s Gift Hut, Snowflake Cafe and a petting stable. Guests may also get a free photo with Santa. Santa and his friends will talk about the true meaning of Christmas.

Live Nativity

Hambden Congregational Church, 13840 G.A.R. Highway, will present its 13th annual live outdoor Nativity Dec. 13 from 5-8 p.m. Admission is free.

In addition, numerous Nativity sets and biblical scenes will be on display inside the church. A children’s craft center and free refreshments will be set up in fellowship hall.
