Middlefield Senior Center member and volunteer Marsha Elliott coordinated an effort to collect winter accessories to donate to local nonprofit organizations early this fall. While experienced knitters and crocheters began creating, Marsha taught other members and staff how to knit hats on a circular loom. Others made mittens, donated yarn and purchased socks, scarves, mittens and gloves. Excitement was building daily as crafters brought in their creations.
The apparel is being donated to WomenSafe, Inc. The effort continues with the next batch of hats, socks and gloves being sent to Geauga County Veterans Services.
