Geauga Young of Heart will meet at St. Anselm Parish Center in Chester Township. Bring a brown bag lunch. Snacks and beverage are provided. The speaker will be Marie from Cardinal Physical Therapy talking about the importance of getting in shape.

A trip is planned for Oct. 15 to Das Dutch Inn in Columbiana for a lunch and show, “A Big Band Salute to the Military.” Also included are stops at Fellows Riverside Gardens and White House Fruit Farm, with a special treat on the way home. Medicare 101

Sept. 19, 7 p.m.

Geauga County Department on Aging’s Kathy Petrella will present an introductory overview of Medicare for seniors new to Medicare at Chardon Library, 110 East Park St. Topics include: Medicare Parts A, B, C, D and Medicare supplementals. Petrella will educated and guide seniors through their first experience with Medicare.

Middlefield Senior Trash Pickup

Sept. 28 and 29

Middlefield Township Road Crew will again work with the Geauga County Department on Aging employees and volunteers to remove unwanted items from registered seniors’ garages and yards.

Seniors who wish to participate in the 2022 trash day pickup program must register with the department on aging.

Seniors who complete their yearly registration prior to the cleanup dates only need to make a phone by Sept. 21 to be placed on the community pickup roster.
