Geauga County Auditor Charles E. Walder continues the mission to find the #1 Dog in Geauga County for 2021.
To kick off the 2021 dog registration, the county auditor’s office is having a #1 Dog Contest for all fourth- and fifth-graders in the county.
Students are asked to submit a short essay to Walder’s office or emailed to 2020firstdog@co.geauga.oh.us by Oct. 30 explaining why they think their dog is the top dog in Geauga County.
Representatives from the Geauga County and Burton public libraries, and the auditor’s office will judge the essays on Nov. 2. The winner will receive the #1 lifetime dog tag for 2021 on Dec. 1.
For more information, visit www.auditor.co.geauga.oh.us and click on “#1 Dog Contest.”
Information also is available at all public libraries in the county or by contacting the auditor’s office directly at 440-279-1614.
