A Fond Farewell
The congregation of Fowler’s Mill Christian Church in Munson is bidding a fond farewell to Pastor Roy Williams who has led the church since he graduated from Johnson Bible College in 1970. Pastor Williams will continue as pastor of the church until a replacement is found and then continue in a supportive role.
His next endeavor will be working with two inner-city churches and pairing 40 middle school-age children with sponsors who will pay for the children to attend summer camp this year at Blue Rock Christian Camp in Thompson.
Roy Williams and his wife Linda have been residents of Munson Township since 1970. Roy was honored by Munson Township as a Munson Notable May 25, 2010.
Best wishes to Roy for continued success.

In Tribute
George Washington, first president of the United States, was born on Feb. 22, 1732, at Bridges Creek, Va. He became a surveyor at the age of 15 and went on to serve in Virginia’s militia, enduring severe hardships during this country’s struggle to achieve independence from the British during the Revolutionary War.
In 1787 his influence secured the passage of our Constitution and he was chosen president, taking the oath of office April 30, 1789, in New York City. Often referred to as the “Father of Our Country,” he served two terms and retired to his estate in Mt. Vernon, Va., where he died Dec. 14, 1799.
At one time, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, two of our greatest presidents, were honored with national holidays on their respective birthdays, Feb. 22 and Feb. 12. Now they are simply co-mingled with the others into Presidents Day.
