The Munson Mud Hens Traveling Baseball Team has had a very successful year. The team’s overall record was 20-13. They outscored opponents 26l-201, took second place at the Aurora Invitational against eight teams and took second place in the Buckeye Baseball League against 18 teams.

Volunteer Tutors Needed
Geauga County Job & Family Services (GCJFS) needs caring, motivated adults to voluntarily tutor elementary students in basic reading and math. Volunteers are required to undergo a complete criminal background check and to attend training Sept. 12 at 9 a.m. at GCJFS, 12480 Ravenwood Drive in Munson.

Addictions Recovery Program
Morning Star Friends Church, 12560 Ravenna Road, Munson, offers a weekly 12-step addictions recovery program every Wednesday at 7 p.m. A meal is served at 6:15 p.m.
The free weekly meetings offer fellowship and support to those seeking to overcome substance addictions. For more information, call 440-286-2510.
Benefit Golf Outing
A benefit golf outing for A Prom to Remember will be held Sept. 9 at Legend Lake Golf Course, 11135 Auburn Road in Munson. A Prom to Remember is a non-profit organization that hosts a prom every spring for teens afflicted with cancer.
The golf package is $100 per person and includes lunch, dinner, 18 holes of golf with cart, skill awards and auction. Registration and lunch begin at 11:30 a.m.

NDCL Hall of Fame Induction
Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin will honor seven alumni into its Athletic Hall of Fame Sept. 14, starting at 3 p.m. with a social hour followed by dinner and the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in NDCL’s McGarry Gym, 13000 Auburn Road, Munson.

Tri-County Coin Club
The next meeting of the Tri-County Coin Club will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at St. Luke Episcopal Church, 11519 Wilson Mills Road in Munson. Following a short business meeting, there is a 50-lot coin auction, coin display and more.

Senior Golf Outing
The last senior golf outing of 2013 will be held Sept. 18 at Pleasant Hill Golf Club, 13461 Aquilla Road. Registration starts at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
Cost is $23 per person, which includes nine holes, riding cart and lunch. Registration and payment are due no later than Sept. 13 with a check payable to the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive in Munson. Mark the envelope “Golf.”

With the Arts
Artists, 16 years and older, who live, work or attend school in Geauga and Lake counties are invited to submit a maximum of three entries at $5 each for the annual Burton Art Show to be held Oct. 8, 11 and 13 at the Burton Library.
Entry night is Sept. 30 from 5-8 p.m. Entry forms are available at all Geauga County libraries or at www.burton.lib.oh.us.

Geauga County Dog Shelter
The Geauga County Dog Shelter, 12513 Merritt Road, always welcomes donations of food, bedding, food and water bowls, collars, leashes, treats and toys. If one is unable to get to the shelter to donate items, arrangements can be made to have them picked up.
The shelter is operated primarily by volunteers and is supported by proceeds from dog licenses, fines, adoption fees and private donations. For more information, call 440-286-8135.
