Gliha Installed as CAAO Vice President
Geauga County Auditor Frank J. Gliha was installed as second vice president of the County Auditors’ Association of Ohio (CAAO) for 2013 at its annual winter conference.
The CAAO includes all 88 Ohio county auditors and was established to promote and protect the interests of the taxpayers of Ohio, and to improve the administration of county government.
Among other activities, the association works with the Ohio General Assembly to offer legislative initiatives that assist county auditors in carrying out their duties.
Gliha has served as the county auditor since February 2009.
Robbery Turns Out ‘For the Birds’
At around 5:24 p.m. Dec. 5, a delivery truck driver called Bainbridge Township police to report what he thought was a robbery in progress at the Bainbridge Township Walmart on Aurora Road, said Police Chief Jon Bokovitz.
The truck driver, who was at the back of Walmart, stated no one would come to the door, he could see two people inside with shotguns and the front of the store looked dark to him, according to the incident report.
“The guy could see in a window these guys with guns and thought it might be a robbery in progress,” the chief said.
However, the guys were employed by Walmart to take care of a nuisance problem with birds, Bokovitz said, adding they had what he believed were pellet guns.
The incident report said the store was closed for awhile while a “paid service” was inside with pellet guns “taking out some rodents,” but otherwise, checked out OK.
