Office Closings, Change of Hours
The Geauga County Clerk of Courts Legal and Auto Title Offices will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25 to celebrate the Christmas holiday.
The Clerk of Courts Legal Office will be closed Dec. 26 from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a swearing-in ceremony of newly elected officials and staffs.
There is court security at the entrance of the courthouse. The public may leave documents with the deputy sheriff on duty and the clerk’s office will file them upon return.
The legal and auto title offices will be open Dec. 31 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Both offices will be closed Jan. 1 to celebrate New Year’s Day.
Chardon Accountants Expand to Florida
Chardon-based accounting and wealth management services firm Neece, Malec, Seifert & Vitaz Inc. has merged with Brey & Co., a CPA firm located in Tampa, Fla.
“With the increasing number of our clients relocating to the Greater Tampa Area, we view the addition of Brey & Co. as a natural fit to continue the growth of our firm,” said Shawn Neece, CPA, managing partner of Neece, Malec, Seifert & Vitaz.
“We already have a significant client base in Florida. This merger allows us to enhance our service to our clients and also provides us the opportunity to grow and expand upon the excellent reputation that (Brey & Co.) have created in this region.”
Following the merger, Neece, Malec, Seifert & Vitaz will officially change its name to NMS Certified Public Accountants, Inc.
NMS has offices in Chardon, Mentor, Madison and Tampa.
Troy ZC Time Change
The Troy Township Zoning Commission meets the first Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Troy Township Community Center.
The commission used to meet at 7:30 p.m.
The new 7 p.m. starting time is effective beginning in January.
